ALGARVE COAST BIKE TOUR: SELF-GUIDED

ALGARVE COAST BIKE TOUR: SELF-GUIDED image

A 6-Day Easy Tour

Welcome to Paradise!

The Algarve is an exceptional destination for cycle tourism. The stunning landscapes, numerous cycleways and fantastic gastronomy make for wonderful experiences on two wheels. The Portuguese are generous people who will go out of their way to make your time here special.

On this 6-day tour you will explore the coastline which has made the Algarve world-famous, all the way from the Spanish border to Cape St Vincent in the west. The easy cycle tracks and gentle terrain make this tour perfect for less experienced riders, or those who choose to ride at a slower pace. As there is so much to see and do in this area, we have suggested a few of our favourite activities for your time spent off the bike. There is something for everyone!

You will stay in great 4* hotels and eat in traditional restaurants serving local dishes and wine. My main aim with any cycle tour in Portugal is to give my clients a glimpse of real Portugal. And this one will be no exception.

Below you will find all the details for your trip, and when you are ready, simply click 'Book Now' and follow the steps.

For any questions at all, don't hesitate to reach out us at bookings@paradise-cycling.com.

CLIMATE

The climate in the Algarve is ideal for cycling most of the year around. It is possible to get some rain in the early parts of the year (Feb-April) however this doesn’t usually last too long.

Spring flowers in April, May and June are stunning, and September and October are also fantastic times to ride. Many people find July and August rather hot to be cycling.

general icon

DIFFICULTY AND TERRAIN

This tour is acheivable for all cyclists, including beginners. The elevation gain each day is quite low, especially at the start of the tour, and the majority of the route is made up of easy gravel tracks and cycleways, and minor roads with little traffic.

general icon

EATING AND DRINKING

We will recommend a restaurant each evening and cafes en route for you.

We support small, local cafes and restaurants, eating where we can ‘how the locals do’. All dietary requirements will be happily catered for – just let us know what you require, or what your likes or dislikes are and we will adapt our recommendations.

megaphone icon

Tip! Bring a small amount of cash during the day, as many local cafes don't support card payments.

general icon

24/7 SUPPORT

If you book a self-guided tour, we are always on the end of the phone. This means that if you need mechanical support, want to change a booking, or anything else which may crop up on the road, our friendly (bilingual!) team are here to help.

accommodation icon

Accommodation

Please note that due to availability, accommodation may vary from the hotels listed above.

Depending on your group size, we may be able to offer you a choice of hotels. Where possible we will do our best to accommodate you in small, traditional hotels and guesthouses where you will enjoy a truly unique experience each night.
